On March 27, Darian Hector and Alejandro Acero Ayuda hosted a virtual symposium on online learning and Spanish as a heritage language. The event began with a showcase of their E-Telling project, a program in which elementary school students of Spanish met with native speakers and learned through the stories those speakers told. The latter portion of the event featured several experts in the field of Spanish as a heritage language, who discussed issues related to teaching that population and to online learning. The invited guests were:
Dr. Maria Carreira (California State University, Long Beach), Dr. María Luisa Parra (Harvard University), Dr. Kim Potowski (University of Illinois, Chicago), and Diego Pascual y Cabo (University of Florida).
